There are many tales told of the origins of Beaudesert's name - each more fanciful than the last.  One thing that we do know for sure is that it was Edward “ Ned” Hawkins who named the area in around 1841.

 

Records indicate that  “Ned Hawkins” was a jovial chap with a long stride and sharp wit. It was said he enjoyed good food, time with good friends, and a relaxing cold drink!

 

At Ned’s, using local produce whenever we can is very important to us. From beef producers; dairies; veggie growers, and wine makers… the Scenic Rim has an abundance of nature's bounty.

 

We have chosen to name our restaurant to honour Ned Hawkins' legacy.  We welcome you to Ned’s Restaurant and truly hope you enjoy everything we have to offer.
